If you have dry skin on your hands this could have many causes. But fact is, you have to do something about it – it really is more than just a cosmetic problem.
Your skin has the function of protecting your body from harmful bacteria and viruses entering your body. If your skin is dried out it can not properly protect you. This is specially an issue if you have dry hands because no other body part has a much contact with different objects as your hands. No other body part is as much exposed to germs and viruses the way your hands are.
Just take a dollar bill in your hand – according to time magazine you just touched 1014 different kinds of germs. If the protective layer of your hand isn’t intact because you have dry hands you might get infections when touching different objects. This doesn’t mean that your hands will be red or swollen or painful – some germs can enter the body in “stealth mode” and do it’s harm slowly and unnoticed.
